Eagle Scout Project Raises Awareness of PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder (or PTSD) is a state of serious mental and emotional stress that occurs when someone has been exposed to a traumatic experience.
Unfortunately, it’s a real problem for many veterans who have served our country so bravely. Inspired by their plight, Jonah Reardon from Troop 14 in La Grange, Ill., recently completed an Eagle Scout project dedicated to educating the rest of us about PTSD.
Jonah organized a screening in his community of a documentary film, On the Bridge, about PTSD. Jonah’s event also featured appearances from veterans who graciously stayed after to participate in a discussion panel about the issue.
Jonah captured the discussion on film and posted the results on his website.
