  My guess is that they built the sides with some sort of modeling clay. However they could have cut them from wood and shaped them before attaching them to the body of the car. So many other options too. Possibly a kit car or some toy that they took apart and modified to work with this. Very cool and fun to think of the possibilities when you think outside the box.
