12,060 Merit Badges, One Cool Video

The Northern Star Council teamed up with an ad agency to create this very cool video, which shows creation of the world’s largest merit badge mosaic.

The video’s subjects used more than 12,000 badges with double-sided tape to create a picture of a Scout that ended up being 19 feet high by 13 feet wide. The council’s message:

“… Souting is not about collecting badges. It’s about collecting the lessons, experiences and relationships that shape your life. Behind each small, round patch is a story with infinite endings. One by one, these stories come together to form the person who writes them — confident, courageous and prepared to make a difference in the world.”
