JOTA Is Coming!
Jamboree-On-The-Air, the annual Scouting event that uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, is Oct. 15-16. And you don’t even have to leave your neighborhood to participate.
JOTA requires only that you travel to a nearby amateur radio “ham shack.” Amateur radio operators are often called “hams.”
Contact your local Scout council and see what may already be planned in your area. You can also find a local ham radio operator or a local amateur radio club by clicking here.
If you’re already a ham radio operator, click here to register your station for JOTA.
The scouting site lists the dates as Oct 20-21 which would be a weekend and make more sense. Click the jamboree on the air hyperlink
I am a ham radio operator. What frequencies will be used? What are time limits?
iThink JOTA is a great way for Scouts to connect and communicate with other Scouts around the world.
