Get Ready To Weld

Welders get to make some really cool stuff — cars, airplanes, robots and more. Now, you can make some cool stuff too while earning the BSA’s next new merit badge.

Welding will become the 128th merit badge when it is officially launched this winter.

While the official requirements have yet to be announced, no doubt Scouts will learn how welders join together metal pieces or parts by heating their surfaces to the point of melting using tools that create all kinds of neat-looking sparks.
