Get A Patch for Safe Driving
The Boy Scouts of America has partnered with AT&T on a program designed to encourage people to refrain from sending or reading text messages while driving.
Spread the word, and you could earn yourself a patch.
Go to the official Boy Scouts of America — It Can Wait Facebook page by clicking here. Click on the “Take The Pledge” link, share it with 10 of your friends, and if they each take the pledge themselves, you’ll get your patch.
Regardless of whether or not you take the pledge, please don’t text while driving. A recent study shows that you’re 23 times more likely to get in an accident if you text while behind the wheel.
Talk to any first responder – highway patrol, local police, sheriff, paramedic, firefighter, wrecker driver – and hear what they say about what happens to people in accidents. Operating motor vehicles requires your undivided attention ALL THE TIME. And buckle up your seat belt every time! Many deaths and serious injuries coul be avoided by having a seat belt keep you in the vehicle! THINK ! USE YOUR BRAIN !
