  16. Our New Scout patrol watches “A Cry in the Wild” every year when they make 2nd class. Its based on the wonderful book “Hatchet” – which most have read in school. It isn’t a big-budget film, but it really brings home how scout survival skills could save your life. After the film we discuss what the guy did right, and what mistakes he made, based on what they’ve learned in scouting.

Follow Me Boys was always a big hit with our pack. When you first put it on the boys are always saying things like “this is old” but by the time the movie ends they’re always ready to watch it again.
