WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE CHOCOLATE HEARTS

  • 3-4 chocolate bars
  • Chocolate mold
  • Medium saucepan
  • Large saucepan
  • Water
  • Candy, sprinkles or fillings like caramel or peanut butter (optional)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Break chocolate into small pieces in a medium saucepan.

STEP 1: Start with about 3-4 chocolate bars. Break them into small pieces in a medium saucepan.

Make a double boiler.

STEP 2: Make a double boiler. Place a large saucepan on the stovetop and add about an inch of water. Place the medium saucepan on the inside of the larger one. Bring the water to boil.

Allow the chocolate to melt.

STEP 3: Allow the chocolate to melt. Stir occasionally so it doesn’t stick or burn.

STEP 4: Once melted, turn off the stove and remove the medium saucepan from the larger pan and allow it to cool for about 2 minutes.

Ask an adult for help because there could be hot water at the bottom of the saucepan.

Use a spoon to scoop the melted chocolate into your heart molds.

STEP 5: Use a spoon to scoop the melted chocolate into your heart molds. Fill them to the top.

Tip: Once your mold is filled, smooth out the top by gently moving the mold side to side.

Place your mold in the freezer.

STEP 6: Place your mold in the freezer for about one hour so the chocolate can harden.

Place your thumb under the mold and pop the hearts out one by one.

STEP 7: Time to pop out the hearts. Place your thumb under the mold and pop the hearts out one by one. You can turn the mold upside down.

Tip: Don’t be scared to get creative. Add candy, sprinkles or filling, like caramel or peanut butter, to the hearts. Layer the bottom of your mold with chocolate. Insert your filling and top it with more chocolate.

  1. Hello, this seems like a pretty easy recipe, but I don’t think this would cause any difference in taste from the original chocolate, is this just purely for shape because I think that it could be a much better dessert if there was some kind of filling inside of it.
