How to Make a Ghost Decoration Using a Cardboard Tube

Be ready for Halloween by making a ghost in our 10-Under-10 series. A recycled cardboard tube and a few craft supplies are all you need to create a spooky decoration perfect for your room, classroom or Halloween display.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE A GHOST

• Gloves
• Paint
• Paintbrush
• Paint tray
• Toilet paper roll or paper towel roll
• Streamers
• Tape
• Scissors
• String
• Optional: Googly eyes, construction paper and markers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO TO MAKE A GHOST ON A ROLL

STEP 1: Put on your gloves. Use the paint tray for the paints you want to use as you go. The first color you’ll need is white.

STEP 2: Use the paintbrush to paint the entire toilet paper roll or paper towel roll white. Set it aside to dry.

STEP 3: Paint on the eyes and mouth. Set it aside to dry.

STEP 4: Cut 4 to 5 pieces of streamer. Make them as long as you’d like. Tape the streamer pieces inside the bottom of the roll.

STEP 5: Cut a piece of string about 6 inches long. Put a piece of tape on each end, and then tape the ends inside the top of the roll to make a hanger.
