Eating Big on AT Trail
Just how much can you eat when you’ve been hiking the Appalachian Trail for 340 miles? Quite a bit.
Check out this recent food order from an Eagle Scout who’s just starting an AT through-hike:
– Double Angus Burger all the way (nearly a pound of Angus meat, cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, tomatoes (two extra tomato slices since Terminator did not want his), mayo and mustard)
– Highlander Fries. Hold on tight for this one: Hand cut french fries in a basket topped with shredded BBQ pork, melted cheese and highlander BBQ sauce.
– A regular fountain drink (7 refills? Yes please!)And to top of the grand feast:
Two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone (cookie dough and butterscotch)
Eagle Scouts Charlie Timberlake and Randy Wright are hiking the Appalachian Trail in honor of a fellow Eagle Scout who died of cancer, and to raise funds for CURE Childhood Cancer and the National Eagle Scout Association scholarships.
