Scouts Blazing Trails at New Base
SummitCorps 2011, the massive Order of the Arrow service project at the New River Gorge, is underway.
In their first few days of works, Scouts built 7,000 feet of trail through New River Gorge National Park, near what will soon be a new BSA National Council high-adventure base. It will also be the site of the 2013 National Scout Jamboree.
The project began last Sunday. Each week this month, several hundred OA Scouts will arrive in the area to blaze new trails.
