Shooting for BL’s TV show
In case you didn’t know, Boys’ Life has a TV show. It’s called “Scouting For Adventure” and it’s really pretty awesome.
Filming for Season 5 is underway, and Boys’ Life senior writer Aaron Derr is with the TV crew in West Virginia under the shadow of the Bechtel Summit Reserve, site of the 2013 National Jamboree.
On Monday, July 9, Derr joined two videographers, one producer and two eager Eagle Scouts on a fishing trip on the New River. We won’t spoil how it turns out (you’ll have to wait for Season 5 to air this fall), but we’ll share a few tidbits:
- One of the Eagle Scouts had never caught a fish before in his life. NEVER.
- It takes a LONG time for those TV guys to get the shots they want.
- Writing a story for Boys’ Life magazine is a lot easier than producing a TV show for Boys’ Life.
Coming up this week, the Eagle Scouts and TV crew are set to try their hands at high-adventure activities such as whitewater kayaking and rappelling.
