Finders Keepers? Or Not?

Let’s say you’re picking up trash on the side of road when you find a small camera bag. Before throwing it away, you decide to check inside just in case there’s something important in there.

Let’s say you find $500 in that bag.

You could put it in your pocket and no one would ever know the difference.

What would you do?

For a couple of Boy Scouts from Gunter, Texas., the answer was easy: you turn the bag — and the cash — over to the police.

“I think it’s a great thing what they did,” says the local police chief. “I really appreciate what they did and I think anyone can take a lesson from these young men who found this money and decided to do the right thing and turn it in.”
