cool?! There awesome!!!!!
Having built and help build a few of these in the past…pretty cool ideas. I would help cut the main shapes of our boys cars, but was up to them to sand, finese, and paint. Our Pack did hold an adults race also…wish I had pictures, but digital was not here then…
These are great, except for the fact the pinewood derby is supposed to be about the scouts, not about how cool their dads can make their cars look, or how much money they can spend on kits to modify them. As a prior cub master I always made sure to reward and recognize the kids that actually made their own cars. Kinda goes back the give a man a fish …

These remind me of my son’s pinewood derby days. His first year he went with a traditional car and was trying to win fastest car. He was really disappointed because he was eliminated quickly. He has always had a great sense of humor, so he decided the next year he was going for most unusual, and got first place in the unusual category every year after that. The first year we had Dash from The Incredibles in a bathtub with a rubber ducky. The next year was a beheaded doll in a coffin, and the following year was a Calvin & Hobbes Flyer (hand made sculptures of Calvin & Hobbes in a red wagon). My son had WAY more fun with those than he ever would have with traditional cars.

Reminds me of my son’s pinewood derby days. He was creative with his too. Love the creativity shown here. His first year in pinewood derby he went for fastest car, and was sorely disappointed. Then he decided on most unusual after that, and won every year. One year he even came close to placing for speed.
I made one to compete with the other fathers cars. It was yellow and shaped like a banana. Either end first, It was one of the fastest cars.

How many were made by scouts? And how many were made by adults. In our pack the scouts make there car by themself. But a dad can ruff cut it on a band saw that is brought in.

These are the coolest cars I’ve ever seen!
Kids really like minecraft. Most of the boys in our pack talk about it. I’ve even seen some playing it when they were waiting on something else.
