The United States has hundreds of national monuments, seashores, historic sites, rivers, battlefields and memorials. But there are only 63 officially-designated national parks.

National parks are very popular and attract millions of visitors every year, but not many people can say they’ve visited them all. In fact, if you’ve been to just 16 of the 63 parks, you’re way above average.

    I’ve visited the Smokey Mountains three years ago, Carlsbad Cavern about four or five years ago, and the Rocky Mountains, Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone this summer!

    I’ve been to Great Sand Dunes and Rock Mountain before, and I headed out for Arches and Canyonlands last month. So 6% is something I need to improve. Maybe a trip to Yosemite, Sequioa, and Mesa Verde might get things back on track…
