Tips from the Appalachian Trail: Staying Motivated

We’ve told you about the two Eagle Scouts who are hiking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in honor of a Scout from their troop who died of cancer.

Well, after starting in Georgia, working their way northward, and on the way discovering that their appetites on such a long, excruciating hike seem to know no bounds, the duo has crossed through New York City and into Connecticut.

Even the shortest of treks can have their lows and their highs, and a monster trek like this one is sure to have many.

Charlie Timberlake posted a great note on his blog about something that kept him motivated along the way. It’s a must-read for anybody who’s ever felt tired and grouchy on a hike.
