Hot-Air Ballooning and Slacklining
Hot-air ballooning and slacklining are two activities recently approved by the BSA — with some restrictions.
Before you build your own backyard balloon and go flying, make sure you know the important requirements.
• Tethered hot-air balloons use at least three lines connected to the ground to keep the balloons from moving horizontally. The balloons can not go higher than 70 feet. The balloon must be registered with the FAA.
• Slacklines should never be more than three feet off the ground. Acrobatics (any time your head is lower than your torso) are prohibited.
