Ian Wesley and Zach Huebner both started with something very simple: an idea. Now, using some of the skills required for the Inventing merit badge, they’re on the verge of seeing their ideas turn into reality.
Ian, a Scout from the Simon Kenton Council, and Zach, a former Scout with the Three Fires Council, are the finalists in the Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge. Edison Nation, a company that helps people turn their product ideas into real-life actual products, will now invest up to $1 million to develop Ian and Zach’s ideas and bring them to market.
Ian’s idea is the ShowerLine Shower Caddy, a travel-sized device designed to make it easier to store, transport and then dispense toiletries.
Zach came up with a new school management tool that will help students take better note of assignments.
