Stuff We Like: Waterproof daypack

While there are lots of cool daypacks on the market with tons of handy features, you’ll be hard pressed to find one that’s truly waterproof. But we found one: the DaKine Cyclone Roll Top Backpack ($100; dakine.com). It’s made of heavy duty black vinyl with a simple roll top closure. Just pack your stuff inside—it’ll hold 2,240 cubic inches worth of gear—compress the bag to get the excess air out, then fold the top over three or four times and buckle it shut. Wham-Bam: Watertight. Unfortunately the outer zipper pocket isn’t waterproof too. But the shoulder straps are comfortable and for those guys who spend lots of time on or near the water or in really wet environments this could be just the daypack for you.
