Knife Safety Quiz
Knives can be a handy tool, but they can also be dangerous. Using a knife requires responsibility. This quiz covers the basic safety rules. You can learn more by completing the Whittling Chip requirements for Cub Scouts or the Totin’ Chip requirements for members of Scouts BSA.

I was Always told to hand someone a knife when holding the Blade so you don’t stab the person you are handing it to so I got the Second one wrong
With a sheath knife or anything where you can’t fold in the blade that’s true, but when passing a pocket knife you always want to close the blade first.
💯% on my first try

88% wawawa
A 25 degree angle is waaay too steep for a good edge. Otherwise, no quibbles. Good quiz. And yes, you can pass a knife safely with an open blade. Knife safety is knife safety, whether it is an open folding knife or a big butcher knife or a locked Opinel. See you on the trail.
I got 66%
I figured I knew the answer, but I never close a knife with the palm of my hand. When your palms are big and the knife is small, fingers are easier to keep safe then the palm at the tip of your knife. Trust me, doesn’t feel good.
Agreed
Is there a way I can print it out and give it at the meeting for the boy’s to take
I probably should not touch a knife ever again
beep beep lettuce
88%. So, O.K.
88 percent. missed the one about the sharpening angle
me too
Me three
me four
I got an easy 100 having just got my whittling chip
I got 88% on my 3’rd try
Pretty easy quiz. Although, in an emergency pretty sure you can use your life to pry things unless its the tiny multi knife thing.
Wow that was very easy 100%!!
100%
95% of this was common sense. It’s great that there’s a quiz tho, to make sure u remember everything correctly
I was a cub scout but I had to quit because my mother and father had tons of things to do so…yeah!Anyways I don’t get how a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one.
A dull knife is more likely to slip and cut you. When you use a sharper knife it will cut the wood and not be able to slip
it is more likely to slip instead of cutting in
The only one I got wrong was the question about what angle you should sharpen your knife. I said 45 degrees.
A dull knife is more likely to slip and cut you
same here
same
A dull knife takes more pressure to cut with so you have less control
All of us scouts should have passed this with 100%. I did!
100%
I love boys life. It is a great way to show how scouts is really made. I’ve learned so much from it and enjoyed the comics and seeing the scouts that of been awarded an honor Metal.
So sad, this app would not let me share my 88% score!
It wont let me play the quiz
