His was a time when a boy looked forward on his journey to manhood .

Just visited the Rockwell museum in Mass. NO Boys Life photos. Disappointed!
I liked every one of them. they showed and taught virtuous efforts to become responsible human beings. every one of them.
Still feel the way I did in 1967 when I became a Boy Scout, Learning from really dedicated fathers how to become a man was the best part of Scouting , even kids who didn’t have a dad, already from Vietnam , we were seeing orphaned kids. The rest of the scout masters and merit badge counselors picked up the slack. Todays kids who don’t experience scouting will be much worse off for the loss. When you made Eagle; you knew you had accomplished something that put you heads up over your peers!

I like February 1952 the best. The details show a First Class Boy Scout teaching two Cub Scouts the whittling Chip. My Troop and Pack still waer the same neckerchief and teach the whittling chip the same way.
